Electric Vehicle Service Technician (EV-ST)

The Clemson University Center for Workforce Development is developing online electric vehicle curriculum to enhance and improve the quality of maintenance technician education in the automobile industry. The team is currently seeking partners to pilot this courseware and provide feedback on the material. This program prepares learners for entry into servicing electric vehicles as a technician pathway. After completing this program, learners will gain foundational knowledge in battery electric vehicle service and installation, electric motor fundamentals and operations, energy storage and battery management systems, electric vehicle software (to include data acquisition, cybersecurity, autonomy, sensors, controls systems), and electric vehicle diagnostics and maintenance.

  • EV-ST-SIS Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) Service and Installation: Safety and Standards
  • EV-ST-EMF Electric Motor Fundamentals and Operations
  • EV-ST-ESB Energy Storage and Battery Management Systems (BMS)
  • EV-ST-EVS Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) Software: Data Acquisition, Cybersecurity, Autonomy, Sensors, and Control Systems
  • EV-ST-EMDM Introduction to Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV): Diagnostics and Maintenance
